Kibbutz Ramat Rachel is an enclave within Jerusalem’s municipal boundaries and overlooking Bethlehem and Rachel’s Tomb.
As part of the kibbutz’s tourist complex renovation, we were commissioned to deliver art direction, and to develop the way-finding systems and it’s visual language, as well as creating artworks for the guest rooms and the public spaces. We choose to follow the “70’s grandma chic” style of the rooms and implement it in both signage language and art.
We took some inspiration from the Kibbutz’s beehives and olive trees while working on the wooden hexagon signs and from vintage kid’s toys when started decorating the lounges.
