What we did
Naming | Branding | Brand Strategy | Visual Identity | Art Direction | Visual Communication

Tucked into the heart of Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv’s most vibrant and storied neighborhood, The Gutman Hotel is a boutique retreat housed within a meticulously preserved Templar-era building.

Steeped in history and artistic spirit, the hotel is named in homage to Nachum Gutman, the celebrated artist and storyteller whose museum stands just steps away.

The branding and visual language, crafted by Yugo and Art Studio, weave a dialogue between past and present. Inspired by Gutman’s whimsical brushstrokes and Tel Aviv’s rich cultural tapestry, the studio created a bespoke artistic expression that flows throughout the hotel’s identity. From hand-drawn elements to a calligraphy-based typographic style, every detail evokes a sense of heritage and craftsmanship.

This artistic approach extends even to the smallest gestures—such as the “Do Not Disturb” signs, which take inspiration from the hotel’s original shuttered windows and wooden shades, subtly echoing the architectural character of the historic building.

More than just a place to stay, The Gutman Hotel is an invitation to step into a living canvas where history, design, and storytelling intertwine.
